After the construction, twenty years ago, of the A24, the path has become almost exclusive used by locals . The towns have been unhabitant and have come to miss the essential services. Schools and post offices were closed and job opportunities and development have become non-existent. Today, the Park Authority has launched a project which aims to strenght the beautiful landscapes and historical artistic of the Statale 80 and its typical products. This, with the goal to make it a road high tourism potential. Calling antiquities "Oblivion Road", paradoxically today back to highlighting its treasures and its inspiring landscapes of art and ancient fables. The building of the Locanda del Cervo, about 600mq, began as a military garrison around the second half the 800, then become a military barracks during the Second World War and then a workers home. Finally, it was restored by the Park to become Restaurant, and guest house in the "National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga."
